I'm looking for NKBA guidelines as to what "small" means m'self. I found this quote:
"The total shelf/drawer frontage* is:
a. 1400" for a small kitchen (less than 150 square feet);
b. 1700" for a medium kitchen (151 to 350 square feet); and
c. 2000" for a large kitchen (greater than 350 square feet). "

I just now did the lookup to get that note / specs. Until now, I didn't know what qualified as "small." Their "small" makes me think I'm puny. 150 sq.ft. sounds like a mansion to me. Jeez. That does seem huge.

So, maybe we just make up our limits:
"smaller = 101-150 sq. ft.",
"puny = 51 - 100 sq. ft.",
"tiny = 10-50 sq. ft."

My MIL had a functional kitchen maybe 4' wide & 8' long (if that).

After that is "closet."
